 Good concept...poor quality. May 25, 2011

This looked so promising to me. The phonics games you can create out of it are endless, however, the quality isn't that great. The lids don't fit properly on many of the cans and some of them are dented a bit (they are only made out of cardboard). The letters/pictures aren't the best quality either...they have wrinkles and bends in the carboard. I'm not thrilled with the quality of it, but I love the idea of it.

My 2 year old granddaughter loves this product. She enjoys reviewing the letters, one by one and naming the objects. The poems/rhymes on the can are a nice reinforcement.

As a preschool teacher in an inclusion class I am always looking for a new game or toy that will motivate the children to learn, keep their attention and can be used by students who range in age and ability. I have purchased activities similar to this, but they have not been durable or have had tiny pieces that were a choking hazard.
The Alphabet Soup Sorters are fantastic!
The pictures of real objects are easy to identify. The material they pictures are printed on is durable. The size of the pictures are perfect for little hands.
Younger children can match the letters to the cans or work on naming objects.
Older students can identify the letter the objects begin with or can sort the
pictures by beginning letter sound. It is self correcting because the words are on the back of every photo. Thanks Learning Resources for making a great product!

I think this product is an excellent addition for teachers to supplement their program. I would not let the children play with them without supervision but they have a wonderful time trying to remember the items in each can...sorting a few letters when contents have been mixed, etc... Glad I have the Alphabet Soup Sorters.

I just bought this toy for my 2 1/2 year old and we both absolutely love it. We have been working on her ABC's for awhile but she is struggling with the letter recognition. This has been a great hands on toy for her. She loves opending up all the can and getting the pieces out. The games she plays with them are limitiless including I-Spy, sort the objects, Find specific letters, stack the cans, .... I was so happy with this product I had to order two more for her friend's birhtday. You can't beat Amazon's price on this item
