excellent Mar 31, 2008
By Eleanor Lin This is a very good foam magnetic alphabet set. There are two of every letter. They come in a reusable plastic purse with a snap closure and a handle. They are fairly sturdy and aren't easily bent. But, foam manipulatives are not as durable as plastic or wood, and they will not survive heavy abuse (chewing toddlers, etc). I chose them because I found that plastic letters slid down the slick surface of my magnetic/write'n'wipe easel. But these are lightweight enough that they stick very well. My only complaint is that it would have been nice if they had included extra copies of the most frequently used letters. I ended up buying a second set so that I would have enough vowels to form an entire sentance.

The best magnetic letters on the market! Jun 10, 2011

I am a Reading Recovery teacher and use these letters on a daily basis. I looked high and low and these are the best! They stay attached and will slide. The letters are a variety of colors but the vowels are all yellow. The dot is attached to the i, so you don't lose it. You won't be disappointed!

Great product Sep 13, 2008
By Emily Mulder I bought these primarily for my 4-year old son who struggled with recognition of the lowercase letters. I also have a two year old daughter, and didn't want the letters with tiny magnets that were always coming out. These are very durable, and soft. The flexible magnet covers the entire back of the letter, keeping the letter firmly attached to the refrigerator. Because they are so easy to manipulate and work with, my kids immediately took to them. They helped my son with letter recognition and helped with his reading. My daughter is also excited to be able to work with the letters (still working on lower case recognition). I bought two sets, so as to have plenty to work with in spelling words, but appreciate there are some multiples in each set to start with.

Good-bye plastic magnetic letters, Hello Softies! Jun 13, 2010

These letters are great for several reasons. They are built to last - strong enough to be used daily throughout the years. Quiet - no clicking sound like the plastic letters emit. Tactile-friendly, kids want to use them (as do I). The vowels are all yellow for easy retrieval.
I am a para-educator and work in multiple classrooms. These are lightweight and easily transportable.

These are really good magnetic letters, shaped accurately, so far good and durable. A good hands on educational aid.
