Cheap, cheap, cheap. Jul 21, 2011
By M. Armendariz

These were not exactly the same length as each other. Defeats the purpose! Also, they came warped slightly and they warped more over time. Totally annoying to try and use these with the Miquon Math program. Save yourself much trouble and buy the traditional wooden or plastic ones. If you must have the connecting aspect, buy Unifix Cubes instead.
Would not buy again.

Must have for hands on learners Aug 22, 2010
By white These blocks are made of plastic and can stick together. Each number is a different color so the kids can identify them quite quickly. Which is wonderful for explaining number bonds in addition. My hands on learner really benifited from this hands on tool as he was learning math. Don't know how I would have taught him otherwise. These are so helpful. Only wish I would have gotten the larger set!

Fantastic Math Manipulatives Jul 08, 2011

We are still in the preschool years and are already loving these. In fact, we've ordered a follow-up set of 155 (available here on Amazon) to have more 10s and 1s to work on place value. Look online for a free Cuisenaire Rod pre-Miquon primer that's great for introducing the values of the rods and concepts behind them.
The description wasn't very detailed, so here is the breakdown of our kit:
22 x 1 cm white blocks 12x 2 cm red rods 10 x 3 cm light green rods 6 x 4 cm purple rods 4 each of the 5 cm, 6 cm, 7cm, 8 cm, 9 cm, and 10 cm rods.

Great for beginning math concepts Oct 26, 2010
By Txmomof2 Each number from 1 to 10 is a different color so students can see the numbers and how they relate to other numbers. There are suggestions on how to use these rods for addition, subtraction and even beginning mutliplication and division. They were recommended by another homeschool mom and I wanted to have manipulatives on hand for my Kindergartner. I would recommend these for use with children who love hands-on activities and are visual learners.

By Patagonia pal I ordered these Cuisenaire rods to use in my ESL grammar class. The students were reviewing gerunds and the rods helped them "see" the grammar better. Amazon expedited the product quickly, so I was able to use the rods in my next lesson.
