difficult to remove Dec 17, 2007
By Carla Matusow My kids loved coloring each others faces and arms. Unfortunately, it was extremely difficult to remove from their faces and impossible to remove from their arms. I used vaseline and the wipes the package recommended.

Unsafe at any speed - AVOID!! Nov 07, 2009
By NCTejana As I type, I'm suffering the discomfort of a cellulitis facial infection in reaction to this product. It's not a question of cross-contamination, as the CraftyDab face crayons I used were a freshly opened package untouched by anyone else and my hands were clean. The first couple of days of discomfort led me to search online about allergies and face paint, at which point I discovered a newly reported study showing that many of these hobby-shop face paints (INCLUDING THIS BRAND) are contaminated with toxins such as lead and common allergens such as nickel, making me most sorry I'd talked my husband into using it, too -- he's horribly allergic to that metal, but luckily the moment he started feeling signs of allergy, he removed the makeup. I'm less lucky, as I wore it the whole evening without feeling anything and now have painful tender spots along the left-hand side of my face, swollen lymph glands, a $75 prescription of heavy antibiotics, and the doctor bill for today's visit and next week's follow-up. STAY AWAY, folks!
(The report cited can be found by searching "A Report on Heavy Metals in Face Paints" online. It is a scientific report whose science was reviewed by researchers at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California, among others.)
