Nice idea, but those are the breaks Dec 24, 2010
By S. B. Royster Adding pencils to the Twistable trend seemed like a neat idea. But if the "leads" breaks in the pencil, they are unusuable because they wiggle back and forth in the plastic holder. And they do break - of our 18, about 4 or 5 are out of commission already. If the leads come out, they can't be used independently because they're too fragile to be held by hand. Too fragile for constructive use. (Amanda's point about their non-biodegradability is well-taken, and rhyming!)
Worst Products Jul 09, 2011
By Jimbone These are by far the worst products from Crayola. I am so disappointed that Crayola would release such a product that is so substandard in quality. The leads have broken off on several of the pencils & my daughter has not had a chance to enjoy playing with them. As one of the reviewer has accurately stated, once the leads break off, it's unusable! Not worth the money spent. My confidence in Crayola's products has diminished drastically.
Ok, but I prefer the non twistables Jun 22, 2011
By Nolan's Mom I understand the draw to twistable colored pencils, and they work OK but I prefer the originals for ease of use. My son tends to twist these too high and gets frustrated using them.

Let's twist again Jan 02, 2009
By Amanda Richards "Come on let's twist again like we did last summer
Yea, let's twist again like we did last year"*
Handy for school
For filling in graphs,
For coloring shapes,
Cows, ducks and giraffes
For circling widgets
For making pie charts
For generally all
Different types of the arts
No need for a sharpener
No messy shavings
Pays back in spades
With the total time savings
If the pointy tip snaps
Now there's no need for tears
Just twist up the barrel -
A new one appears
See through the barrel
And when it's all done
You can't twist no more -
It's the end of the run
Lasts pretty long
And costs only change
A pretty good tool
From the Crayola range
Not for real artists
Who vary their shading
But okay for teachers
For marking and grading
For Primary Schoolers
They're neater than markers
Easy to clean up
And won't drive you starkers
The only bad things
Are, when pressing too hard
The point will snap off
And your work can be marred
Plus the barrel is plastic
And when it is empty
It'll sit in the landfill
Until 3020
"Yeah round 'n around 'n up 'n down we go again
Oh baby make me know you love me so"*

Great for school! Sep 01, 2007
By Bec's Mum I was very happy with these pencils - they're perfect for school, along with the mini-twistable crayons. Will definitely buy more when needed!
