Great Fun and Learning!! Apr 06, 2003
These Creature Peepers are wonderful!! Our 4-year-old just loves his! Before we had this, he was always bringing his newly-found "friends" into the house. Yuck!! Since buying the Creature Peeper, he still brings his 6 and 8-legged "friends" into the house- but now I am much calmer about it! He loves to catch all sorts of bugs and study them through the magnifying scopes in the top and bottom of this toy. Great fun for curious children!!

My little bug lover loved it!!! Jun 18, 2009

I purchased this product for my 4 year old and he was thrilled when it arrived, we went bug hunting almost right away. My only complaint is that the receptacle detaches very easily so my clumsy 4 year old would release the bug without examining it yet...he'll learn though. Overall we're happy with it.

Good bug viewer for kids. Aug 06, 2009
By TriTroy I got this along with a bug book because my boys, 4 and 5, have started expressing a lot of interest.
What's to say? The Peeper does a great job of displaying captured critter magnified from both above and below.
My minor complaint would be that the top piece doesn't fit as snugly as I would like. I added some tape around the edge to make the top less likely to come off when inconvenient.
Overall a great toy and has been holding up well so far. Approx 2 months.

Loads of Fun! Oct 16, 2008

Bought this for my granddaughter who is five. She has had a wonderful time inspecting a multitude of unsuspecting creepy-crawlers. Her mother, my daughter, does supervise to make sure nothing that bites or stings is picked up for inspection.

Critical Flaw Aug 02, 2010

The lid doesn't secure to the unit so it is only suitable for adult use. Children do not have the coordination to keep the unit upright while trying to view the unit from the side. Unfortunately, the lid that contains the bug falls off unless the unit is held perfectly level. This is not good if you are trying to teach a child to confront their bug fears.
