Keeps my kid busy. Aug 09, 2010 I use this as a special toy only used when I'm trying to get dinner on the table. My 15 month old isn't a pro with cutting the pieces yet, but it does keep him busy and he feels like he is helping mommy cook dinner. Which he really is!
really neat Jun 24, 2010 We got Mellisa and Doug food items and this really neat fruit crate. These are great toys that teach kids there's more to eating then opening a hamburger wrapper ( although I do like my burgers).
LOVE this! May 26, 2010 My two-year-old absolutely loves this toy, and not only does it look adorable and real, the velcro holding the pieces together really makes the cutting feel real. The cutting feeling is very satisfying, and after many months of cutting, the velcro is holding together fine for more and more play. I highly recommend this product, as well as the vegetable selection as well. Someone gave me the vegetables as a gift and my daughter loved it so much that I got her the fruit as well. One more thing, Pottery Barn Kids offers the exact same product for quite a bit more $$ than Amazon, so definitely go Amazon on this purchase!
Fun with fruit! May 20, 2010 We bought this toy for our two year old daughter for her birthday. It took a little coaching from us for her to figure out which side of the "knife" to use, but once she did this it became a really fun toy for her. She loves sticking the fruits back together almost more than she likes cutting them up, I think. She hands off the melon and the banana to us, but all the other "two piece" fruits she is thrilled to put back together. Sometimes she sticks two different halves together and comes running to show us her funny joke. It's been great fun, and the velcro bits have held up very well so far. We think this is a great toy, and is probably going to be fun for years to come.
Surprisingly entertaining May 01, 2010 It would not have occurred to me to purchase this item. Our 2 year old son received it as a gift and is very happy to spend his time cutting up the fruit.
