So close, but a little TOO big Mar 05, 2010
By Amber Hathaway I was excited to order this eraser given how frequently I have to clean or replace my cheapie white board erasers and how often I use my board as a high school teacher. I loved the idea of the layers with replaceable cartridges and the large surface area. Unfortunately, the eraser is not perfect, at least not for me. The grip on the eraser it great, but the eraser itself is too big and unwieldy for me. I find that when I erase from side to side, the eraser has a tendency to tip sideways rather than stay flat. For example, if I were to slide the eraser to the left, the left edge of the erasing surface would "catch" on the board and the left grip side would tip towards the board surface. The more pressure I put on the eraser (and a good amount of pressure is needed to erase older marks or the low-odor markers that tend to ghost more), the more likely it is to tip like that. I think the problem is that I have small hands and a small grip width (index finger to pinkie), which makes it harder for me to control the extremely wide base of the eraser. Even just a half inch or an inch less would make this a much better eraser for me, especially if it still came with the layers of eraser pad. Perhaps after this I will switch to the precision point eraser, even if it's a design I don't like as much.

"blue light"
If you can afford it, this is a good eraser for you teachers with white boards. Why I say "if you can afford it" is because the whole point is that you should peel away a layer when it gets dirty (and not try to use the layer that's had it already). Buying refills is not cheap, but hey, school teachers are all overpaid, aren't we?

By Guray Alsac The cheapo 3M sponge style erasers (3M Whiteboard Eraser for Permanent Markers and Whiteboards, 5 Inches x 3 Inches x 1.2 Inches, 2 Pads/Pack (581-WBE)) work way better. Even though this is bigger, you end up having to go over the same areas multiple times. And the edge catches and the thing keeps wanting to topple over itself. The product seems good in concept but it is poorly executed.
