Doesn't compare to TinkerToys Jun 22, 2007
By A Concerned Citizen

Every time my baby puts a stick to his mouth the color comes off the wood pieces and his hands and mouth turn that color.
The pieces are pretty hard to put together.
Some holes are too big and the sticks slide right through.

Instructions Dec 14, 2008

Wow - instructions were included with our set and DON'T include inserting the pieces into baby's mouth. AGES 3 and up.
This a toy that allows for invention and experimentation. Great toy. Rivals erector sets and Lego. Just different. My 4 year old has built (with help) a swing set, a vacuum cleaner (hmmm) and a variety of moving, revolving and stationary objects (not sure exactly what they are). Fun, fun, fun.
Our set was a dollar from a garage sale so a fantastic deal (made 1994).
Well made fun toy Jan 22, 2012
By JimInRaleigh I bought this for my grand daughters for when they visit.
The pieces are smooth and well made.
The girls enjoy sitting there trying different constructions on their own or with me.
There are different projects diagrammed to follow if you wish. They vary in terms of difficulty, which I think is good. They can progress as they become more adept.
Good basic fun toy.
FIDDLESTICKS FROM AMAZON--AWESOME Oct 15, 2011
By John Tracy Our 4 year old granddaughter Delaney played with fiddlesticks in our local library.
We bought the 104 piece set from Amazon One review complained the sticks would not go in the round pieces easily. NO PROBLEM. My husband folded a piece of sandpapaer half and sanded the inside of the slits. Took very little time and solved any problem that existed on the longest sticks. As far as the color coming off in a baby's mouth. How dangerous to allow one's baby to put sticks or smaller objects in their mouth. Some of the holes are bigger because those rounds are rant to spin on some objects. So go for it; this is a great product. Teaches creativity, motorskills, etc.
