Nice sturdy stacking/sorting toy. Jan 16, 2007

We purchased this for our son for Christmas and so far it's a hit. He has developmental delays so I am always on the lookout for sturdy educational toys for him. He loves to stack blocks and other objects but becomes very frustrated when they fall- with this pegboard, the pieces fit together so that when my son stacks them- they are unlikely to fall. My 3.5y old also enjoys sorting them by color or shape. All around, it's a nice toy.

Great learning toy Nov 11, 2007
By Bandomom I purchased a set of these stacking shape sorters for my 2 year old daughter and have been pleasantly surprised at her interest in the toy. The first thing she did when she saw the puzzle was stack the pieces by color. Now she lines them up in rows and makes tall towers. It is excellent for developing small motor coordination. The pieces fit easily into the holes and are large enough for small hands. Every child that has come over to play has spent time with this peg board.

great for sorting and separating by color and/or shape Mar 26, 2008

My 2 year old has spent 30 minutes straight, very focused, organizing by color, creating separate stacks or one tall stack. My 4.5 year old is even somewhat entertained. Worthy of note is the storage of the toy. The plastic cover mentioned in other reviews is, in my opinion, just part of the packaging and not meant to be a storage cover. True, however, that when the toy isn't played with, optimal storage isn't offered but I found it easy to just put it all in a big zipper storage bag, therby avoiding the problem of 25 pegs scampering off (inevitably under the sofa) when someone decides to tip over.

Good Fine Motor Toy Nov 24, 2009
By B. Mills As a former preschool teacher, I knew the popularity of pegboards with toddlers and preschoolers, but was surprised how hard they were to find in stores. I bought this for my daughter's second birthday and she loves it. This is a great toy for a child interested in puzzles but unable to put complex ones together independently. It's also a good tool to use for learning colors and shapes. I've tried to work on color names using several other toys, but this is the most successful so far. Her favorite thing to do is build the tallest tower she can using the pegs.

Great stacking toy Feb 29, 2008
By K. Delaney This is a great stacking toy. My 2-year-old son loves to sit and stack these pegs up! It's great because it teaches him shapes & colors, and the pegs help to let him make a tall tower without it falling over! The only drawback I've seen (and I've seen this noted on someone else's review) is with the plastic lid that comes with it. You have to place the shapes in the correct order to get the lid to go over them...a little time consuming when you're trying to do a quick clean-up, but overall, it's rewarding to see my son matching his shapes & colors and being able to identify them.
