Duplo hospital Mar 18, 2010

This set is awesome. We set up ours a little different from the picture. Instead of using a garage for the two amublances we made the hospital 3 stories with the recption/check in area on the bottom level. Both kids love this set. It comes with 2 ambulances, 3 stretchers, 6 people, 2 chairs, 3 hospital beds (my daughter puts other things in their like the fisher price little posable people. Although larger they do fit and every one gets to be a patient.), 1 doctors brief case, water can, reception desk with phone, stairs, and a drop down crossing gate. This is a really good set It even comes with its own plastic tupaware case to put it in when it is not in use. If you are going to buy a duplo set this is the one. We have several others and this is the one the kids play with most.

My sons (almost 4 year old twins) loved this present from Santa. They also received the Duplo Police Station. Sometimes, they build it like the photos on the box (which they follow all by themselves), or put both of the sets together to make tall buildings.
Very, very enjoyable and I am happy since my boys are content with their construction toys.

So this is part of the "educational" line for Duplo which is worth exploring if you don't know it. It is geared for preschools and daycares and the sets adapt really well to multiple kids playing with them. This also means that they are generally good value compared to the flashier packaged parent/kid version. You get a lot of great pieces plus a good range of skin color plus the build options tend to be better, not just one version like the package.Plus two of whatever the hot items might be like ambulances and stretchers. Also has cool accessories like the briefcase, shower/light, sink, chairs, telephone, etc.
Finally, the walls are genius for slightly older builders (ages 3.5, 4, 5) because they can be used to build anything, anywhere. And there are lots in this model plus white walls and base plates are generic enough to transform into a house, castle, etc. They make for a quick build and great story telling. And my younger 2 year old loves it too because of the beds and bedding and house furniture.

I bought this for my 4 year old son and he likes it. He says that he likes lego duplo since it is easy to put it together. The ones what are meant for 4+ is much harder and he loses interest if something takes forever to put together.
The hospital set comes in a big plastic box. It is a nice toy to learn about professions and also do some role play. I would recommend this toy to anyone who has kids and who like lego duplo.
