Fun Toy, but one can obtain all of the same pieces much cheaper Oct 04, 2010

Major Plus:
The vehicles that come with this set (and the other Duplo sets that have the same style track) are the only vehicles I have found that also work well with the MegaBlok track (sold with the Dora Roller Coaster and several Thomas Sets).
This allows one to combine the MegaBlok track with this track (and even with standard straight Duplo Bricks).
Minus:
Price is very much too high, when one considers how few special pieces this set contains, and the price per piece (as compared to other sets).
If you must have new, and you want these road pieces and vehicles, buy this set.
However, if you are willing to go with used, eBay has several mixed Lots listed, that have the few special pieces found in this set, along with several other fun pieces.
For the price of this set, you can likely obtain all 8 curved road pieces, a few of the vehicles, slopped road pieces (that do not come with this set at all) and many other fun useful pieces.
My mistake was not noticing, via the picture, that there are very few special pieces in this set.
It is difficult to tell from the picture, but none of the straight road pieces, are anything other than normal bricks.
While this is not an issue, because the vehicles cleanly slide over them (which is so cool), this does lower the value of the set (makes it much easier to obtain all of the needed pieces cheaper).
One other thing, found in this set, not available in the lots you are likely to find on eBay, is the set of activity cards.
But I am guessing that you can easily come up with your own.
They are basically pictures of various combinations of road, for the kids to copy.
Personally, I think I would rather the kids came up with their own combinations.
If you go to eBay and bid on some used Duplo lots, you are also likely to get some slope road pieces (these came with a popular Dora set).
This adds a lot more versatility.
