Duplo Fun + Letter Fun Mar 03, 2011

We played with these at our local children's museum and loved them so I bought a set for the house. At almost four my son is on the cusp of learning to read and read enjoys making small words and phrases. Sometimes I set up a word and then he makes rhymes with it. Sometimes they get incorporated into our larger duplo play where the scenes are named. We do the same thing with writing words but these are a little easier for him because he doesn't have to concentrate on writing the letter too and he enjoys the fine motor skills involved.
Note: these are on the duplo scale, not lego.

This product is very open ended in that you can use it to not only teach your child upper and lower case letters but there are enough letters to do simple spelling of many words and work on fine motor skills at the same time.
