My daughter has the larger "Violet" Leap Frog toy and I purchased this cute mini version (I have the purple violet one... only difference is the color) for a long car trip. She LOVES this and it's her new "nighttime" toy. The little moon lights up. It has three buttons - off, a "short" little song such as ("Naptime's here, my eyes, they close...") and then either 10 or 20 minutes of lullabies or nighttime music. The little "Blankie" is removable/washable and threads through the moon to stay put. My daughter is 10 months old. She puts the blanket up to her face and uses it to soothe herself to sleep. Highly recommend! (FYI - you cannot customize your child's name like the bigger Violet/Scout).

this doll enables us to drive for up to twenty minutes without my four month screaming. she hates the car. she has hated all other cars, the three types of carseats that we have used, having people ride in the back, and every other type of distraction. i put this in with her and her screams of outrage turned into song. now she sings with the puppy on every trip (that last less than 20 minutes).

My son got this for his first birthday and we all love it! He has the bigger Scout so was excited to see a familiar face when he opened his gift and pulled out this adorable mini Scout. It plays music, the moon lights up, and the blanket is removable and washable. I would recommend it to everyone and it will be a new favorite thing to give at baby showers. Too cute!!

My son is 5 months old now and if you asked me to pick one toy that we couldn't live without (aside from his activity mat) THIS WOULD BE IT. He got it as a gift when he was 3 months old and the very first time I turned it on, he went to sleep listening to it.
What I love about it:
- the moon has a light that slowly blinks. it totally mesmerizes my little guy and he sometimes watches it until he falls asleep and doesn't even cry. The other night he started crying about 30 min after I put him down. I went in and turned this on and he went right back to sleep
-the timer. you can choose 10 min or 20 min of lullabies or environmental sounds and then it turns off. you can also turn it off whenever you want, which is nice.
-the songs and rhymes. There is another button you can push that plays naptime/sleepytime songs. I actually use it as a distraction for when I'm changing his diaper. He can be screaming at the top of his lungs and I push that button and he stops and watches the light.
-very small. I love how little it is. I actually take it in my diaper bag when we go to grandmas or friends houses so that even if he is taking a nap in a strange environment, it will still sound the same and so far this has worked very well.

We received Twinkle Twinkle Little Scout for our son's 1st birthday as a gift from his aunt. You can always tell the experienced parents because their gifts are SPOT ON! Our son instantly fell in love with this toy and refused to leave his crib after nap and bed without little Scout in tow. He learned to push the buttons after a few days with the toy. Now when he is put in his crib he picks up Scout and pushes a few buttons and the lullabies and softly glowing moon lull him right to sleep.
This toy has been dropped quite a bit since our 1 year old is still a bit wobbly and its still as good as new. Its soft and easy for small hands to carry and cuddle. The volume is a nice level for soothing bedtime- not too loud. The only thing we're not 100% sure on is the "attachable" blanket. I can tuck it in under his arm but I can't see any real way to attach or detach it- so we just keep it in the crib. It is nice to have since our son loves to put it over Scout and tuck him in to bed over and over.
Not sure about educational value yet- the toy does have some great prompts for counting and sounds to provide fuel for imagination but our son is a bit young to see if that takes hold with him.
This is a WONDERFUL toy. I would buy it again and gift it to other children in a heartbeat. My nieces have the larger Violet toy and we will be buying the larger Scout for our son when he is older as we can see the same qualities that we love in this toy in the larger version.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
