MAGNEATOS Jan 20, 2010
By Diana S. Rishmawi LIKE THE OTHER REVIEWS SAID, THEY DO NOT STAY TOGETHER VERY WELL, CAN BE FRUSTERATING FOR YOUNGSTERS. WITH PATIENCE AND TOLERANCE THEY ARE DECENT. MY SONS ARE 2 1/2 AND 6 THEY DO LIKE THEM BUT I USUALLY MAKE SURE I AM HELPING TO EASE THE FRUSTERATION WHEN THEY FALL.

GREAT TOY! Jan 12, 2009
By R. Withey I bought a set of Magneatos for my grandson as he turned 3. It has been the very best toy. One needs to put things together in a certain order to build the set higher and create stability. Still, when built less than perfectly the little guy takes great joy in knocking down whatever height we create. He also plays entirely alone with his sets and loves to simply build a long, long "snake" or some other long creation. He LOVES this set more than any other toy he has ever owned!
Could have been fun AND educational Jan 08, 2011
By Painter We bought this set for 5 year old grandson who loves to build and create things, wanting both educational and fun toy. A plus was that his 2 year old brother could with it also. On Christmas day my grandson and I tried playing with the toy for 30-45 minutes. It was very frustrating to me as there were no instructions/pictures showing how to build the structures that were pictured on the box. The flat pieces would not stay in place between the tubes/magnets like the photos. Grandson mainly put magnets together at that point - no "building" involved. I could definitely see the "clips" on the flat pieces breaking off quickly. I had actually seen this toy recommended for children with ADD - but my personal experience would indicate that it would be more frustrating than fun or educational. I would not buy this product again and would not recommend it for any age group. OBVIOUSLY I did not read all the buyer reviews before I purchased - feel that it is over-priced for what we got.
Does not hold up Dec 01, 2010
By jn I returned this toy because the magnets are not strong and the structures do not "hold". I purchased 5 (2 for our son and 3 as gifts) 36 piece sets of Magneatos from Discovery and have returned them. Not one set worked well. It is not possible to build the structures high as shown in the picture. We would get it together and then as you add another piece, it all comes crashing down. It was very frustrating for our son (and me!). Also, this set has MANY hooks and doors so don't think that you are getting a whole bunch of balls & rods in the 148 pieces.
My grandson loves his Magneatos Jan 10, 2009

The Magneatos Jumbo Master Builder Set arrived on time for Christmas. We bought it for our 3 year old grandson. Both he and our 5-year old grandson play with it - hours on end.
