As cheap as you'd expect Nov 02, 2010
By Ben I thought I'd save some time and money buying a notebook online instead of heading to the campus bookstore. Bad idea. Without being able to see the product before purchase, I had no way of knowing how cheap it was. The pages are not perforated, but sometimes they rip out easily because the edge is cut too close to the spiral binding. The binding also works its way out of the pages because there is nothing at the ends to keep it in place. The notebook is also floppy, so it needs to be resting on a flat surface in order to turn the pages. Next time I need a notebook, I'm spending more money, and examining it in person first.

Not a good notebook. Aug 15, 2011
By IamMe This is not a good notebook AT ALL. The pages are very soft. Even worse, the covers are also soft. The spiral binding is not done right and it always messes up the bottom of the pages (you'll know what I mean when you use it). I tried to treat the notebooks like they were eggs to keep the bindings from destroying the bottom of the pages, but it always does no matter what. I bought a bunch when it was on sale, and was stuck using it for 1.5-2 years since I did not want to throw all of it away. It was a bad experience.
This is a bad product. I recommend buying the Staples version of the 1-subject ruled notebook. It is much cheaper and better than Mead.
Decent Feb 22, 2012
By Noname I bought a whole case of these Mead spiral notebooks for my kids. The pages are thin, they aren't perforated, but the price was right (back to school sales) and I'm not expecting much for school notebooks. My biggest qualm is the wire spiral eventually getting tangled around the holes on the left edge. It's not neat and pretty after awhile and the covers don't sit well then. They do start out looking nice and I'm not really complaining.
The pages are wide-ruled, good for elementary school kids. Both of my kids use them and they don't have any issues with them.

By kurringt Notebooks arrived early and unharmed. Good product for the price. Definitely will buy more next time I need notebooks for class or short stories.
Not what it used to be Nov 03, 2011
By L. Thompson Surprisingly poor quality of paper in these notebooks. Several pages were stuck at the spiral punches. Separating them individually works with some sheets and caused others to tear. Mead used to be a great product but I guess the quality of everything seems to be deteriorating these days.
