One of my favorites Aug 26, 2011
By Deborah Frank I have used this CD for years, first in my bilingual preschool class and now in my bilingual kindergarten class. This CD contains 34 tracks: 17 Dr. Jean songs that are sung in English and then in Spanish. The English version of each song is sung by Dr. Jean and the Spanish version immediately follows on the next track. I disagree with the reviewer who stated that the Spanish singer's pronunciation had a strong American accent. I enjoy her voice and have never noticed an accent. That being said, I don't use either the English or Spanish alphabet songs. I don't like the way the letter sounds are produced. The songs are all Dr. Jean songs:
1. Hello Friend
2. Days of the Week
3. Months of the Year
4. Weather Song
5. Today is Sunday
6. Opposites
7. Color Farm
8. Alphabet
9. Five Little Monkeys
10. Macarena Math
11. The Rules Rap
12. Tooty Ta
13. Couch Potato Pokey
14. If You Are Happy
15. My Mother is a Baker
16. Special Me
17. Goodbye Friends
These are just fun early childhood songs and my classes have always enjoyed them. I wish Dr. Jean would come out with another CD like this with more of her songs, especially the Cool Bear Hunt.

Strong American accent in pronunciation Dec 15, 2007

This review is written by a mom who has a native Spanish speaker for a babysitter. My hope was that playing this would help supplement what my kid is learning from the sitter. In our case, because this recording has a strong American accent in the pronunciation of the words, it is basically useless. Also, the music is grating. Maybe this CD has redeeming qualities in the sequence for presenting material, but I couldn't bring myself to listen to it. Foreign language CDs really ought to have a native speaker.

Very helpful Aug 12, 2007
By Gladys Quinones This cd is helping me teach Spanish in a very attractive way. I let my baby listen to it on when we are on the road. Keeps him quiet and is an instructional and fun device.
