Better Off with Something Else Jun 24, 2009
By A. Havener This product is good quality and works for what it is supposed to do. It is in fact magnetic, it is sturdy and my daughter (19 months) loves it. She can carry it by the rope; which I agree is strangely designed to take up space on the board, a top mounted rope would be just as good, if not better. However, the board is not double sided, which would have been nice. It is about the same size as a standard 'college' marker board and in my opinion, if you can get a magnetic 'college' marker/message board for half the price, why would you spend this money? A good product, but if I were doing it again, I would get a less expensive board. The other educational insights products make a great addition to this board.

Great idea, holes in corners make patterns difficult Aug 17, 2007
By C. Rice Love the magnetic board for traveling. The shapes are fun and include a good variety: arcs, bars, equilateral and scalene triangles, half circles, as well as your usuals. The weird rope idea is poorly done, though. A rope handle mounted at the top would have been much more useful and wouldn't take away board space. The holes in the board aren't terribly annoying if you're using letters or numbers, but it can get in the way when using shapes.
Good for Home, Good for School Jan 20, 2012
By ANN S FISHER I bought this as a gift for my grandaughter who is just two and learning her alpahbet - along with magnet letters and numbers. I know you can use them on the fridge but this makes it portable - usable from the car seat or when visiting other places. Her mother loved it because her daughter won't be under her feet in the kitchen. Her mother is an elementary school teacher and is looking into buying these for her classroom as she is loving the things she can do with her daughter and knows she could also employ those techniques at school.
It's okay. Jan 09, 2012
By jah It is okay but it doesn't come with the pieces to put on the board. I only receive the board so I was unhappy about my mistake...
perfect for a magnet alphabet Dec 20, 2011
By Friday i bought this for 2 two-year olds, they LOVE it (granted, not all by itself) i got the letters & numbers magnet set from melissa & doug at the same time and they adore playing wiith their letters on this board.
they are 2 and a half now and know EVERY SINGLE LETTER, and the sounds they make!! and i think having this board helped a lot with that;
we would sit down & spread all the letters out, then i'd show them what a letter looks like, what it's called, what sounds it makes in a word & a few words it starts - while i am doing that they look for the letter & stick it to the board. we sing the alphabet up to the next letter & do the same thing with it.
the whole magnettic alphabet fits on here
it is also a whiteboard & works great for that
would totally buy again... in fact i will probably have to buy it again since they both love it so much :} haha
