 Little disappointed Feb 17, 2012

I LOVE the concept of this item. I had ordered some from another company for my 5 year old neice, but I got hooked on it! Ordered some for my grandkids, but I was a little disappointed when I sat down to do it with them. The paper is very thin, and tears very easily. I will order the thicker kind next time.

Scratchpaper is made by topping a layer of color with a layer of black ink, that can then be scratched off to reveal the color underneath. Young children can use a safe wooden pointer to scrape away, and be amazed by what they find underneath. Older and more serious young artists will benefit from the tools that are sold separately, which will introduce them to the tools of pen and ink, and allow them to create real works of art using different nibs for different effects. Either way, they're hours of fun.

I bought this scratch paper for a Valentines project for my 3rd grader's class. It was a big hit with all the kids, both boys and girls. The kids kept coming back for more. I kept the left-overs for my kids to use at home and my 5 year old was just as excited about it as my 8 year old. Even my 12 year old had fun making designs. A definite hit!
