Simply perfect, but that's all Apr 24, 2009
By Tetsuro Okabe I got this for my kids to brush their teeth 2 minutes. It works perfectly for that purpose. It is made of cheapy plastic with no-fun red and blue, but virtually unbreakable. It's not a fancy room decoration or mascot on your cabinet. It's just a functional time measurement equipment.

Nice, useful toy Oct 10, 2007
By AIZ I find the sand timer very useful in improving kids' concentration and focus while doing homework and other short activities. Seems a durable "toy", my youngest dropped it a few times and it didn't break. While you get a consistent time length every turn, don't expect it to be precise to the second on the advertised duration.

This is a TOY, not a two-minute timer Feb 10, 2011
By Arnold F. Williams
"Thoughts Online Magazine"
I received two timers, one red, one blue. I timed each: the red timer was 1 minute, 28.7 seconds, the blue timer was 1 minute 50 seconds. As an illustration of the fallibility of telling time by sand timer, these make excellent toys, since only a little time spent turning them trying to figure out "how long it takes" illustrates the problem of attention/dropping/resetting that plagued early time measurements. And that is a worthwhile lesson. For measuring two minutes? Not the thing to order.

Outside plastic, inside glass=your kids will figure it out how to brake it Oct 17, 2010

"doc mom"
My 2.5 year old loved this toy, until he figured out how to take it apart, and slide the glas out of the plastic cover. He broke it in no time. Otherwise the timeing was off 5-10 seconds. It was fun for what it costs.

Great for brusing teeth. Jan 11, 2009
By T. Lowther Our kids had trouble with brushing their teeth too quickly. We use the two minute timer and they have to brush until the sand runs out. It works great!
