Would be better without the spinner Jun 07, 2008
By KT I ordered two different sight word bingo games; the other was much better. Since this game uses a spinner to call the words, you can keep getting the same word over and over which gets old quickly. The other game, which I ordered from Oriental Trading, has more player cards and more sight words (100). Most importantly, since it uses word cards, the words called do not repeat and it is easy to verify that a marked word has been called. It was also less expensive. I normally love Learning Resources products, but this one falls short.

Educational and fun at the same time Jan 20, 2008
By ER Editor My son is learning his sight words and this product caught my eye. It's great because has it helped him to recognize these words over and over again, and it encourages the concepts of taking turns and patience. And of course, as with any game, it's a great addition to family time. But the best thing is, he's having so much fun trying to get the words that it doesn't feel like schoolwork.

the game is better played with more than 2 people because cards do not have most of the words that are contained on the spinner.

I wish the cards had more words. Mar 01, 2009
By Bless Yahweh There are 8 words and a free space per card. The materials are cardboard no thicker than a cereal box. The spinner works well and my son is picking up the words though.
Great Learning tool May 30, 2011
By Kristy This is a great learning tool but the spinner is annoying because you keep spinning the same words over and over. So I typed all the words, printed and cut into cards and we don't use the spinner.
