Tangoes is an excellent game for kids Aug 09, 2008

I received Tangoes as a gift over ten years ago. I have since given it as a gift to my children, nieces, nephews, and friends' children. Each Tangoes game has two sets of seven pieces so that one or two can play. You put the pieces together to form the shape shown on the card--there can be more than one way to create a shape. There's a key on the back of each card that shows a solution. Players quickly learn to visualize how the seven pieces can be used to make the different parts of the shape. Tangoes is very portable: the box shown in the picture securely holds the cards and the pieces. Some of the shapes are easy and others can be quite challenging. There are also additional decks of cards that can be purchased and you can even create your own shapes. It's a very entertaining game that everyone can play!

challenging little game Jan 12, 2008
By gamegirl A fun learning game. Arranging the pieces in various configurations to make the shape shown on each card is more challenging than you think! Builds good spatial relationship skills. Good game for all ages, as kids with good spatial skills can beat adults. Nice compact size is good for travel, too. Can play solo, as well.

Great puzzle, for all ages May 15, 2009
By Shobana Swamy This is one of my favorite puzzles - it is fun, can be played alone, in pairs, or in groups, across ages - grandparents and gkids work really well.
The spatial-logic part of your brain which is exercised here is normally not used as often as the language-word processing part, so it is very relaxing to sit and try out a few of the puzzles.
Ages 5+ definitely get it - initially by looking at the answers on the back, but later without help.
One of my favorite mathematical kinda gifts to give.

Great game! Jan 17, 2012
By Patrick M. Waters This is a great game, both for fun and for development of spacial skills. Very challenging! Even puzzles I have done before are difficult the 2nd and 3rd time around!

Priced just right for a birthday gift or stocking stuffer, it is a good toy to take with you on a car trip or put in your purse for your child to play while waiting at a doctor's office. I recommend for solitary play for the 9 to 12 year old child, either boy or girl.
