5Gets loads of play! Kids of all ages love this.  Nov 02, 2002
By christinemm - The Thinking Mother
This toy can be used by babies and toddlers and up. Younger kids can use it simply as a pretend phone. When certain buttons are pressed there is a dial tone sound, a ringing sound, and a "busy signal" sound. My youngest was one year old when he began playing with this, randomly pressing buttons, listening, and really pretending to talk.

Older kids (5 or maybe 4) can use this as a teaching tool, with the parent. As described by the manufacturer (above) this has the capability to program in numbers, record your voice, and practice calling 911 or practice calling other important phone numbers.

So far we've only used the toy to play with during imaginative play. My kids have played with it so much that it is worth the cost. Kids who visit for playdates also gravitate to this toy and love to play with it. I highly recommend this as a great toy for pretend play.

Also great from this manufacturer is the pretend cash register.

5A Special Toy For A Special Boy!  May 24, 2004
By L.C. "Ladyb"
My son has autism, so I am constantly on the lookout for toys that will help him in everyday task. The phone is FANTASTIC! In only two day, he got the hang of the phone and learned his home phone number! The kicker was for praise, he heard mommy's voice saying, he got it right! No mechanical, strange voices! Good Job! Great Product!

4Great for teaching your child how to dial their own telephone number!  Mar 06, 2006
By mommyofchristopher "mommyofchristopher"
Too bad that after they learn to dial their own telephone number, and hear a recording that either you or your child recorded, they quickly lose interest in playing with the phone. I just recommend this phone if you are interested in teaching your child to dial their own phone number or 911. The playback after you record the message is pretty clear for a play phone. Too bad you can only record one message associated with only one phone number at a time. If you want them to learn another number, you would have to erase the first one, then record another message and number.

4Good Resource, but LOUD  Nov 05, 2006
By Kimberly
This phone has been a valuable resource for my 5-year-old who now knows our home number and my cell number thanks to the phone. Aside from the learning aspect, there are also fun prerecorded messages for pretend. My only complaint is the volume control stopped working and it is now stuck on the absolute loudest setting - which is quite loud. The quietest setting was even a bit loud.

5Great toy for all ages  Nov 23, 2005
By Jullianna Johnson "mother of 2"
I bought this phone for my son when he turned 1, he is now 5 and he still loves this toy. My husband is in the Navy, so when he would be deployed we recorded hisvoice so my son could hear it. I now have a 1 year old daughter who also enjoys the toy. My son now records his voice on it to make his sister laugh. It was one of my best toy purchases.
