Flimsy! Aug 28, 2009
By Ben Kell Got this because of the good reviews and cheap price. It's a great globe, but the stand is extremely flimsy. You can't pick it up without it feeling like it is going to fall apart. In fact, simply by bending the holder a little bit the globe will come right out of it. I guess I'm just used to the globes we had growing up that had metal stands. This one has a plastic one that I'm not impressed with.

Better than Most! Sep 19, 2007
By Sherry S. Lester
"Home school Momma"
I bought this globe for my homeschoolers. I was even suprised by the quality of the globe.. My kids really liked it too.. they like to look at it and try to find new places and then make me teach them about them.. The only thing I didn't like about the globe was the base was plastic and not something a little more sturdy. So, I wouldn't recommend it for small children without supervision.. Other than that.. its better than any globe I have seen at department stores..

Traveler Blobe-Blue Ocean Aug 11, 2009
By Book Crazy Girl i bought this for a 7 year-old very interested in maps, geography, and countries outside of the US. She was not at all disappointed. It was a good quality product, with some 3 dimensional features, vivid colors, clear markings, and was a good price. It was packed well and arrived in perfect condition. I would recommend it for children of that age and perhaps a little older as her parents and I think she will be able to refer to it as she progresses past 2nd grade.

OK globe Sep 04, 2009
By Bobthearch Unable to find a globe anywhere locally, I ordered this one from Weatherbuffs through Amazon. The map detail is very good, and the physically raised topography is a nice touch. The quality of the actual globe is better than I expected.
The actual base is a rather heavy plastic that has some weight and feels durable (durable enough for tabletop use anyway). But the plastic arm that holds the globe and attaches it to the base is rather flimsy. This is obviously not designed as a toy for unsupervised kids.

Vendor really went the extra distance Oct 04, 2008
By A.S.W. This was a case when the globe did not get shipped in a timely manner. But when I contacted the vendor they bent over backwards to make it right and they special shipped a globe to me in two days so my son got it in time for his birthday.
We all make mistakes. It is the mark of a truly customer oriented vendor to go the extra distance and make it right. Thanks!!!
Also my son loves the globe. He wanted a globe he could put pins into for the places he has traveled. This globe is perfect for that.
