Helps with concentration Jan 12, 2012
By Holly Lauber As a teacher, I often use these. Some claim that it makes kids better readers, but what it really does it allow the child to hear themselves read. These work really well with my ADD/ADHD students as well as my ESL students. They can hear themselves read and it also helps to block out the sounds in the classroom and readers around them.

Fun as a phone, be wary of speech development claims Sep 04, 2011
By S&JO A counselor at our child's school recommended this toy to help with his speech development. We bought it without asking his speech therapist, who is a leading speech pathologist at the local university. When we told her about it, she rolled her eyes and said it's unlikely to help with speech development. Having a child hear themselves say something wrong louder won't help correct the speech issues. Just imagine trying to use this to teach yourself a new language. But she said that if he has fun playing phone, then no harm done. Be wary of speech development claims. Our son has had fun playing phone, so it's a good toy at a good price compared to fake cell phones!
