I own the entire Tag Junior library. Check out my ratings before buying books! (I wish I had researched before buying them all!)
Each left-and-right page spread features a Cars-themed scene that contains several different versions of the current shape (for example, "circle" page has a Mater scene where the sun, his tires, a street sign, and a shop sign are all circles). Shapes included are: triangle, square, circle, diamond, rectangle, oval, and star.
Given that my son is a bit advanced for some of the Tag Junior books, I sat down with my 15-month-old and let her explore with it. She has already mastered how it works, and a "shapes" book like this one is just the right start for her age. It is also appropriate for my 3-year-old in that he can search for shapes within the picture (in I Spy fashion) and not simply be taught what a circle or square is. Overall, I feel like this book is a good value because it actually will get use out of pretty wide age/ability range, though for us, not quite how LeapFrog has judged it (2-4).

As a parent of s toddler who is obsessed with cars and trains, I thought that this book would be perfect for his collection. Compared to all the other books we one, I wish that we got this one first since it is so basic. It is great in the sense that it helps with shape recognition but I would highly recommend it as one of the first books that you get for your tag junior. However, my two year old now reads this book to me without the assistance of the tag junior because of how basic It is and since it doesn't have a storyline.

GREAT book ... helped my son learn his shapes (and colors) in no time! He still plays with this book and even my 14 month old has taken to turning the pages and plopping the TAG Junior reader down it as she has watched her brother do the same. My older daughter has the regular TAG Reader and we love that one and the books as well. Would recommend to other buyers!

My nephew plays with the system all the time. He is trying to read along with it and he is getting much better with colors as well. Definatly a recommendation.

My son in 22 months and LOVES cars! Anything with cars, he loves. He seems to like this Tag book. It made me realize he knows more shapes than I thought, which is great! It also has him hunt for the shapes, which is great for following direction and listening...skills he is developing but hasn't quite mastered. It is a very basic book, so I don't think he will like this for much longer than 6 months, but since kids change so fast, I wasn't expecting a learning book to grow with him much longer than that. I do wish it had more "car" sounds...
