Make this the one! Jun 10, 2000
If you're going to buy one Greg and Steve album, make this the one! It's terrific for a room full of preschoolers or one or a few children at home. Not only is it fun to listen and dance to, but it also teaches listening skills ("Listen and Move") and reviews the months of the year in English and Spanish. As a preschool teacher and mom, this is my top pick!

this is the best greg and steve cd, pre-teacher must have Jan 04, 2004

I have or have listened to all of the greg and steve cds. This is my personal favorite for several reasons. First, the songs teach something like days, numbers, and some other basics. Those sit-down type songs are perfect for circletime from 2-5 year olds. I use ASL on several of them. The speed of the songs makes that possible. (Ex: The Good Morning Song.) Secondly, there are great gross-motor songs like The Freeze, Popcorn, and the Boogie Walk. The all-time most popular preschool song has to be Listen and Move. When it yukky outside, and the kids are driving each other crazy, you NEED to break out the Listen and Move song. This CD can change the mood in a preschool room almost immeadiately. This is the ONE you want to buy, if you don't have a lot of funds to get them all. Enjoy !

Kids want to play OVER AND OVER AND OVER Jan 10, 2004

Preschool children absolutely love *Listen and move - They tiptoe, run, hop, gallap and laugh their way to some energy release! * The Number rock - In a circle joining hands and yelling and screaming the numbers. Helps to count and recgonize sequencing. Then we all fall to the ground! *The Freeze - they just want to keep freezing (We like to freeze in a really goofy position) *The World is a Rainbow - We have rainbow streamers that children do things with. We ask each child to wave their streamer in a unique way to this song and then everyone copies.

Wonderful psychedelic pop Mar 06, 2003

I'm a substitute teacher in Chicago, and occassionally I teach a kindergarden or pre-K class. The aide that I was working with threw this record on yesterday for a group of 4 and 5 year old children - obviously, they loved it, and danced around the room. I was impressed by the likeness that much of the record had to recent efforts by Apples In Stereo and many of the Elephant 6 Recording Company groups. For any fans of that ilk, I reccomend this twee pop collection.

I'm 28 now and we had this on vinyl when I was a kid. I *still* remember it. I just looked it up to recommend it to a friend of mine who just had her first baby. I'd agree with the other reviewers who mentioned this is the best album of the set. We also had Vol. 4, which is a close second. My sister & I still reminisce about the fun dances and good times we had to these albums. Highly recommend.
