Endless Combinations of Fun and Learning Oct 10, 2009
By Barbara I purchased these weighted numbers for my grandchildren in conjunction with the pan balance. It is a perfect learning toy for a toddler that grows w him/her. There are multiple uses for the weighted numbers... if you purchase a second set the child can be introduced to number recognition by tangibly finding the matching number or placing like numbers on opposite sides of the balance scale to see if they are even and match! As their skills grow the child can do number combinations i.e. 4 and 3 for 7. An art project can also be incorporated by tracing the numbers with a pencil. The uses are limited only by your imagination.
weighted numbers help students with math concept Feb 25, 2012
By Jean Monefeldt This product really helped my students understand that the equal sign does NOT mean "answer", but that it means equivalent....what is on one side of the balance, is equivalent to what is on the other side of the balance. I also used it to demonstrate that an equation can look like 10=5+5, which often confused the first graders.
good for children Jun 09, 2011
By College Books This product will be used in a classroom. Hopefully the children will be able to relate to the difference in weight being more or less when compared to another number(s).
